Born in Ulsan, Oesol Choe Hyun-bae led the
"Hangeul Matchumbeop Tongiran" (the Proposal for Unified Hangeul Orthography) and published many books in order to creatively promulgate Hangeul. Those activities contributed to the spread of Hangeul usage and the systematic approach to Hangeul.
