Miamsa Temple (미암사)

Miamsa Temple's name derives from a rock within the temple grounds, which is the subject of a legend claiming that rice grows on the sheer cliff face. At the entrance to Miamsa Temple, 250 golden Buddha statues line the path, followed by a stupa containing the Buddha’s true relics. Upon entering the temple grounds, a majestic reclining Buddha immediately catches the eye, and the main hall inside enshrines 20,000 Buddha statues. Above the Reclining Buddha stand the Dragon King Hall within a small cave, a sculpture of the Child Manjusri in a pond, and a stele commemorating the pairing of the Bodhidharma statue.
