Icheon Ceramics Festival (이천 도자기축제)

The 40th Icheon Ceramic Festival is a celebration of ceramic culture held at Icheon Ceramics Village and throughout Sagimakgol Pottery Village in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do. Renowned for its high-quality clay and advanced kiln techniques, Icheon has long been one of Korea’s leading ceramic centers, preserving and advancing a ceramic tradition that bridges the past and the present. Marking its 40th anniversary, this year’s festival reflects on the history and significance of the Icheon Ceramic Festival while exploring new directions for the future of ceramic culture. During the festival, ceramic artists and visitors come together to share the artistic value of ceramics and experience the creative process firsthand through programs such as pottery wheel workshops and wish-writing activities on large ceramic pieces. The festival also features a wide range of exhibitions and sales, showcasing everything from traditional pottery to contemporary ceramic art. Academic seminars, competitions, and performances further expand the festival's role as a platform for cultural and artistic exchange. Through the active participation of local ceramic artists and residents, the festival contributes to the local economy while sharing the excellence of Icheon’s ceramic culture with the world.
